Water Systems
C
& R Racing manufactures a high-quality circulation system used for cooling hot
race engines between practice runs, before qualifying, and even during the race.
This circulation system was designed and built to let NASCAR Winston Cup teams
cool down their engines between test and qualifying runs without draining the
coolant and refilling with cold water. Now they simply plug 2 hoses into a check
valve, turn on the circulator unit, and let it cool the hot engine. While this
is taking place, the mechanics are free to change springs, shocks, or work on
the other areas of the car. Having this unit will increase the amount of track
time during testing. Over 90% of the Winston Cup teams use the C & R Water
Circulator.
The water circulator has
a built in swirl pot/air trap for removing air from the system making this a
very effective tool for bleeding air out of the engine and radiator. It has a 37
gallon reservoir and ice can be added for extra cooling needs:
Specifications:

Check Valves
Ford Style Check
Valve
The C & R Water
Circulator check valves were designed to insure that water flows through the
entire cooling system when using a water circulator. AN sizes have hose end
style nut to screw directly to radiator. Ford style installs in lower radiator
hose.
Thermo-Check Valve
C & R Racing has
designed and developed an in-line water thermostat made for racing. This
thermostat was originally designed for our NASCAR qualifying package and has
since been used for other applications. For early season when racing in cold
weather and also for alcohol burning race engines, this thermostat will maintain
temperatures in a range for making peak horsepower. The element in these
thermostats are made by Volvo and is the most rugged and durable thermostat
element available. These thermostats will maintain water temperatures in the 190
degree range which is very good for peak horsepower.
Our in-line thermostats
are available in sizes -12, -16, -20, and 1 1/2" hose sizes. They come
with a -6AN bypass fitting to circulate water through the block before they
thermostat opens.
A new product for our
water circulator customers is a thermostat that serves as a check valve. These
have 1/2" NPT male inlets for quick disconnect fittings.
